2/15/2023 0 Comments Queen a night at the opera vinileI cannot give it 5 stars because some people are right in the point this is almost (not quite) as altered as the Original Star Wars 90's re-releases. Even though people mistake the joke for indulgence these days, anyone with a brain can tell that the ultra-excessive arrangements of Queens magnum opus were as tongue-in-cheek as they were (inexplicably. To add up, very quiet pressing to the point that surface noise add warm rather than disturb, to my ears (with the right equipment) plays better than the 2011 Hi-Re on streaming, impressive stereo image and "0" clicks and pops. The benchmark for all fey-prog pomp rock, this is Queens best album and an essential buy for any collector with a taste for the absurd. My mid fi equipment reaches audiophile levels playing it. Only complaint very few sections reminded me the original CD pressings from the 80's which are very close to the originals masters, so I am almost sure what is missing is distortion rather than music from the source. You will not get a purist approach to the original though but it is that good that you will play it again and again just like always. If it bothers you, you can dial it down easily. ![]() ![]() People seem to forget that Modern equipment has an extended bass in comparison to the 70's. You only notice it is remastered in the digital domain because some stereo panning are that precise and expansive that surpasses the 70s technology, it has more bass but it is not that overloaded. ![]() II am surprise how good it sounds, this reissue is based upon the 2011 remaster but somewhere in the process to press it into vinyl dynamics are certainly increased, letting it breath and shine.
